Lazy Lama is an online toy shop offering all kinds of children’s toys, and it is working hard to grow its brand awareness and online market share. At the time of writing, we’re at the start of the optimisation work. We’ve taken the first steps and are already seeing the results.

Technical SEO
Lazy Lama’s website runs on Lightspeed CMS, which brought some technical challenges. The biggest technical SEO issue was that Google crawled a huge number of irrelevant pages that could cause duplicate content issues. By excluding these pages in robots.txt (noindex, nofollow unfortunately wasn’t possible), we made sure Google gives much more priority to the important pages. This delivered a 117% increase.
We’ve left out the data from late November because of Sinterklaas shopping and the search traffic that comes with it.

Results
Alongside a 117% rise in traffic, we see “only” a 60% rise in organic purchases over the same period. This shows there are still opportunities to increase the number of converting visitors.

However, conversion is still lagging behind the growth in organic traffic, so we’re currently improving the checkout with CRO advice. We also checked whether visitors land on the right pages, and fortunately they do.
Next steps
There are several further steps to take Lazy Lama’s results to an even higher level, such as content optimisation on the homepage and category pages, and link building. With all our clients, we also look at the audience’s search behaviour so the product range can be matched to it as closely as possible.
